2011 Manukau One Base Sport and Gamefish tournament results and report....
The 2011 Manukau One Base Sport and Game fishing tournament was competed over the weekend of 26th - 27th February. As I was out of the country during the competition, this report unfortunately will be short...
As I understand it, the weather for the game fishing followers was most inclement, with the Manukau bar being very non co-operative (closed due to the diabolical conditions!)
However, as the club introduced this year the change of rules that bought in sport fishing to the annual One Base, all was not lost, and many of the entrants fished the inner harbour for the sport fishing section. As I understand it, both days were fished... There were 72 entrants, and from all accounts a good time was had by all, both on the water and in the club rooms.
Here are the results...
Overall 1st prize (Dimond Trophy and vouchers) -
Peter Stewart on board 'Dawn Striker', 5.46Kg Kingfish...

Congratulations to all the prize winners (as above), also all the winners of the spot prizes etc that were issued during the contest. On behalf of the club, I hope that you all enjoyed the tournament, and we hope to see you all back next year !
As soon as I have downloaded the camera, I will be including some of the photoes taken during this event.
And of course,
Let them know you fished the Manukau One base! Without the support of our sponsors, our tournament would have had little attraction. Please support these great people..
